Discover the unmatched display capabilities of our Square RGB TTL TFT Display. At 4" in size, this display offers an impressive resolution of 480x480 with 16-bit full-color pixels and an IPS display for stunning color up to 80 degrees off-axis. Ideal for expert hackers in search of a sleek and densely packed screen.
The ST7701S TFT driver uses SPI and TTL RGB data for 'dot clock' functionality, where SPI is solely for display setup and not pixel rendering. While its 40-pin connector may suggest otherwise, its pinout differs from that of other 800x480 (4.3", 5" or 7") or 480x272 (4.3") sized rectangular displays. This feature makes it a one-of-a-kind and groundbreaking display.
To fully utilize the Square RGB TTL TFT Display - 4" 480x480, a chip such as the ESP32-S3 with octal PSRAM or a Raspberry Pi is necessary for driving and illuminating the display. Alternatively, the ICN6211 chip can act as an intermediary for direct-DPI connection with a Raspberry Pi or other computer. Please note, this function is not compatible with Feather or Arduino models.
This is just the display module! No PCB is included.
You cannot use these with an everyday microcontroller unless it specifically has support for RGB-666 displays so please do not purchase unless you know for sure that it can plug into a driver board with the correct pinout as well.
