The word RFID refers to Radio Frequency Identification. RFID is a tracking system that uses intelligent barcodes to track items in a store. RFID finds many applications including Access management, tracking goods, Tracing human beings and animals, Toll collection, Non-contact payment, etc. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) based access-control system allows only authorized persons to enter a particular area of an establishment.

This RFID Based Consumer billing system kit is an effort to design a prototype billing system based on RF-ID to directly know the object and check out all the objects automatically to bill the whole purchase by any user based on the RF-ID. The object will have a unique ID tag installed. This tag will receive by the RF-ID reader and sent to the PC. PC has the stored parameters of the item like cost, product. Once the object is identified the billing can be done easily. The bill will be stored on the PC. The billing process etc will be handled using the PC interface.

This RFID Based Consumer billing system is attached to each item. As soon as any item is taken nearby, the reader senses the ID of the item and sends data to the microcontroller. The microcontroller, in response, sends this data to the computer. Hence all billing is done as per the data stored in the computer database automatically.
